WasteCo is looking for a physically fit, hands-on Industrial Services Technician / Class 4 Driver to join our Christchurch team. If you enjoy variety, don’t mind getting messy, and like working outdoors on the tools, this could be the role for you.

WasteCo NZ Ltd delivers essential waste management and industrial services across the South Island. Our work includes hydrovac and hydro excavation, industrial cleaning, sump and grease trap maintenance, spill response, water blasting, wastewater services, and more.

About the Role

This is a physical, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll operate hydrovac trucks and hydro excavation equipment, drive a range of Class 4 truck combinations, and carry out industrial cleaning work such as sump and grease trap servicing and high-pressure water blasting.

The work can involve confined spaces, working at heights, and messy environments, so you’ll need to be comfortable getting stuck in.

Safety is a top priority at WasteCo. You’ll complete daily safety checks and paperwork, maintain equipment, and follow strict health and safety procedures while working alongside a supportive team.

Hours: Monday to Friday with 6:30am starts
Extras: Occasional on-call weekends and travel away when required

What We’re Looking For

• Class 4 licence (essential)
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, dirty work
• Confident working around wastewater, grease traps, and industrial waste
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
• Strong health and safety focus
• Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented
• Positive attitude with good problem-solving skills
• DG endorsement (desirable)
