WasteCo NZ Ltd are proud to offer a range of waste management services across the South Island including household and commercial waste collection, specialised medical and quarantine waste handling, industrial and utility services (Portaloo, city sweeping, spill response, hydrovac, wastewater), and waste sorting both on site and at purpose-build facilities focusing on recycling and diverting materials from landfill.

About the role

Are you keen to get hands-on and behind the wheel? Then this Driver Operator position in Cromwell could be for you!

No two days will be the same as you operate a range of trucks and service a variety of clients. From solid waste to liquid waste, you will be behind the wheel of Hydrovacs, Gantry, Front Load and Septic trucks. You will also be expected to help with Porta loos, events and yard maintenance and a practical can-do attitude is essential.

We have a full-time role - Monday to Friday from 7:30am, with occasional weekend work or early starts, so flexibility is key.

We also have casual/part-time opportunities.

We are looking for drivers:

  • A full class 1 driver's licence, class 2 preferrable.
  • D G endorsement (we can help get one)
  • Someone who is flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Solutions-focused and customer-oriented mindset
  • Good time management and clear communication skills
  • A team player with a good work ethic
  • Reasonable standard of fitness
